come one come all to newts chop shop
Who: Newt Geiszler, Kit Peddler and YOU
Where: Newt's clinic in the shady part of China town that Newt sort of lives in.
When: Pretty much whenever. The clinic is open five days a week, and this is a catchall.
What: Newt's clinic is still open for all wayward aliens, robots and cyborgs to be seen to without questions for free. Kit is his rude secretary hacker who is also pretty good (better) at fixing up the cyborgs.
Warnings: Bullshit science and Newt is a warning on his own, but will update if medical stuff happens.
[there's a few thread-starters within, but please feel free to hit this up!! The clinic's location is easy to get a hold of for anyone who needs it and a google search of Newt will reveal that he's actually really great at what he does and has lots of credibility as well as 6 pHDs. Back and Post dating is fine, just let me know!]

Uh, hey there. Can I help you?

I dunno. What is this place? It sounds neat.

It's a free clinic, mostly for the superhero/cyborg/alien community since, y'know. There's not a lot of those around.
[Lyra would be able to see a lot of robotics littering the room, little projects that Kit's working on. He guesses if she just stumbled in, that she's not needing his help.]
Are you lost? This is kinda a shady part of town.

I was just looking around. Everyone here was real nice. How come they put it here if it's so bad?
[lyra just assumes all healthcare services operate the same way as back home in england, and also that her own experiences are universal.]

[thats a lie, he, likes how China Town reminds him of Hong Kong]

I thought free clinics was the government.
[she says this kind of dismissively because she doesn't care very much. both lyra and pan edge toward newt, lyra leaning against the counter on her forearms.]
So you know about all kinds of aliens?
no subject
[He gives a shrug. It gives him something to do too. He watches them both with caution--he's had enough experiences to know that everyone should really be approached with caution these days--before raising his eyebrows with a grin.]
I'm Earth's leading Xenobiologist, yeah.

So you know about people from other universes? A lot of the ones I met were real different, like whole other species. Like, some of our friends was real small but they had these big dragonflies, like the size of birds, and they could fly around on them? They said there was regular size people on their planet too who wanted to wipe 'em all out. And then there was the wheel guys, they were real nice but we couldn't talk much because only Mary knew the language. And the witches, I bet their biology is all different, because they never get old and only girls can be a witch, whose mum is a witch, but their sons are just ordinary people, they said. But then they said there was other witches in other universes who were men and women, and some who got old, which is just magic users really.
[she stops and briefly ducks her head, settling back down on her heels.]
Sorry. I didn't mean to go on and on like that. It's just, since we left Oxford there was nobody to talk to about this stuff. I just really miss everyone.

He laughs a little, letting her get through her spiel, grinning a little. This is what people go through when he gets excited.]
Hey, don't apologise, that stuffs awesome. Dimensions isn't exactly something I'm really an expert in since that's kinda more physics and spacey math stuff than biology but I mean. Technically if they were here they would be alien to this world at least. And giant dragonflies sound awesome, I totally wanna ride one.
[he gives her a smile.] So you're from an alternate reality?
no subject
I'm just from England. My friend Will though, he cuts holes to other universes, and we been all over.
[she will conveniently leave out the part where she had already got to another universe when she met him, because her father had torn a hole through the fabric of space-time by harnessing the power of child murder.]
He'd love it here, I bet. He's going to be a doctor or something. [she bites her lip.] What kind of aliens do you get here? I never met anyone from a different planet in this universe yet. At least, I don't think I did.
no subject
[He grins widely.] Oh a whole bunch. Alternians and Skrulls are the main two that we know the most about because they tried invading us. Did you miss that whole invasion thing?
no subject
I was just a kid! I heard about it, but I never saw any, except on TV sometimes. We used to have a game where somebody is a skrull and you have to figure out which person. Do they come here a lot?
no subject
[he gives a shrug, grinning a bit about the game.] You ever play that game where someone actually was a Skrull? Awkward.
