[open] and i trained myself to give up on the past 'cause
Who: Nilin & YOU
Where: CONDOR training facility/a coffee shop of your choosing
When: A TIME
What: Chat/fight/flirt with Nilin! Choose an option and put it in the title or come up with your own prompt!
Warnings: None!
1.
[Nilin spends at least 30% of her time training. It's what she knows best. So the gym at CONDOR is her usual haunt and she can usually be found doing some ridiculous cardio workout or readying up for a spar. If you've been there with her before, she's probably offered to spar with you, so today you might be getting ready to do just that.]
[Or you could be rudely interrupting her treadmill workout. Either way fists are going to be flying.]
2.
[Look Nilin doesn't like getting herself into these situations. She just can't help it - when someone gives her attitude, she has to dish it right back. So today she's having some very stern words with a barista who made a rude comment about her or about another customer... does it really matter at this point? A scene is about to be made. Please step in.]

She knows her way around in a fight, sure enough, but she’s no expert at it. Back in the Air Force, basics had always been enough. Why focus on hand-to-hand when she could fine-tune her flying?
Except joining CONDOR had changed that. Things were different here, understandably so. It just didn’t feel like the basics were going to cut it anymore – and that was probably on account of witnessing a few of the different “super powers” in action. Seeing something like that in person could really put things into perspective. Behind the controls of a helicopter, she was comfortable…but she couldn’t count on being in reach of one at any moment’s notice.
Realistically, she could train all she wanted and it probably wouldn’t make a huge difference, but. Well, it sure couldn’t hurt either. And Nilin came with recommendations as a training partner.
After making her way into the gym, she scans the room until she spots a woman matching the given description. Rotorstorm’s still new enough to CONDOR that she hasn’t met everyone, and she’s never even seen Nilin before now. But that doesn’t stop her from strolling over with an air of relaxed confidence – coming to a stop just behind the bench Nilin’s sitting on.
“So. You’re Nilin, right? Word around town is that you can throw a mean punch or two. Think you could squeeze in some time to show me the ropes?”

Still, she turns and looks up. She does her best not to look unfriendly, but her resting face isn't exactly inviting, and she's never been good at covering up indignation.
"I could," she says, non-committal. "Depends on how much you know. I'm not much of a teacher."
She finishes wrapping her hands as she speaks, and then she twists around to face Rotorstorm.

Admitting that she’s less than stellar at something is never pleasant, but she manages to keep a cheerful enough demeanor. Besides, it wasn’t as if combat was anything she’d try to specialize in before. Crossing her arms, she gives a quick shrug.
“If you can’t do it, I guess I could always find someone else. I just figure that if you want to practice, why settle for second-best?”

"No, I'll do it," she says in a light tone. "Better than a punching bag, in any case."
She stands up, rolling her shoulders to warm them up.

“Okay, now we’re talking.”

You ready for this?
no subject
Sure. [He tips his head towards the... fight place. The mats. Whatever.] You?
no subject
Don't worry about me.
no subject
[Very much in the tone of "it's your funeral."]
no subject
Well hurry up, then. It's not like I have all day.

[He follows her over and stands on the opposite side of the mats, gesturing in a 'whenever you're ready' kind of way.]

'Scuse me, miss? Are you having a problem?
no subject
Yes, but I think I've made my point.
[She gives the barista a warning glare.]

I'm sorry for your troubles. Do you come here a lot? I was wondering if the iced tea latte is any good? I never had iced tea before but it never got so hot where I came from. Latte means it comes with milk in, right?
no subject
I really only drink black coffee. Sorry.
no subject
Oh. Well, coffee's good too. I like milk and sugar though. What's your name?
no subject
Nilin.

[she smiles.]
Do you mind if I go order?
no subject
Go ahead.
[She grabs her coffee off the counter and steps out of the way, finding her way to a table so she can sit and drink her coffee and cool down a bit.]
no subject
Thank you, Nilin! Maybe I'll see you around.
no subject
Yeah, sure.
