Who: Celestia and Tron
Where: Alpha Tower
When: Nowabouts
What: Alpha Force's only remaining members discuss the depleted state of their team.
Warnings: None.

The 50th floor of Alpha Tower was well-lit and spacious, with wall to floor windows and elegant white decor. Further up were living quarters; this floor was a little more business purposes, but nonetheless more relaxed and private than the conference rooms and event halls the tower housed lower down.

Celestia sat back with a heavy sigh on the long white couch in the centre of the main room, and set down the papers she'd been looking through on the equally long coffee table that stood parallel to it. The latest batch of applications from parties interested in joining Alpha Force, and not one of them from a hero who fit the bill.

She worried that perhaps she was being too harsh; that there were worthy heroes in here who she was turning down. But she'd been a member of Alpha Force for longer than most of these applicants had been alive, and she liked to think she had an eye for what made a good member. And most of these weren't it.

The one at the top of the pile was from a woman with prehensile earlobes whose gimmick, as if she needed one on top of that, was a penchant for vulgar catchphrases. Underneath that one was someone who made it very clear that his reason for applying was that he hoped that Celestia would marry him if he was accepted onto the team. There were better pickings than that, but none of them seemed right, and the interviews she'd conducted already had backed up that judgement. Alpha Force was down to two members, and it didn't look like it was about to fill out any time soon.

[Tron just nods in agreement.] There has been quite a lot of suspicious chatter on the Watch recently.

I know I wasn't able to be at the UCLA sinkhole, but I know there were many others present besides yourself. When we approach Legion and CONDOR perhaps we should suggest they check with some of them for samples.
