Who: Cynthia, Karkat, and Katniss
Where: Trailblazers HQ training facilities
When: Early March
What: An argument during training leads to an unexpected breakthrough.
Warnings: Karkat's vocabulary, probably.

Cynthia has been in the training facilities for three hours already, and she's made no progress. Over the last few weeks, she's been able to learn how to move objects in directions other than up and down, and she's happy about that, but...it's not enough. There's still no way she can go out there and defeat villains! Therefore, she's not truly a superhero yet. She needs to get better at using her powers, especially since she's a bit too clumsy to rely only on physical training. Cynthia's a diligent person, but even she is getting frustrated.

When the repeated failures at moving things faster than a human's walking speed prove to be too much, she decides to take a break. Maybe this will help refresh her mind and finally get the ball rolling here, because that ball has been sitting squarely atop the hill all day. She's never been the quickest learner, but this isn't something like math or science – it's innate. She should be able to get this quickly, right? Right?

Before that particular pit of self-doubt can catch her, she looks around for an appropriate break location. The best place she spots is where Katniss and Karkat are training. Friends always help, in one way or another, so she makes her way over there. "Hey!" she chirps, not really considering the possibility that she may be interrupting anything. "How's it going over here? Any cool new moves?" She glances between the two of them enthusiastically.

Karkat shrugs, lowering his sickles. For his part he feels he was kind of in the middle of something, and he looks a little irritated – but then again Karkat usually looks at least a little bit irritated by default.

"If by cool new moves you mean practicing using a sickle as a weapon without actually cutting anybody," he says, with no small amount of resentment, "yeah, sure." He's expressed annoyance about this tendency in the Trailblazer training programs before, but he's extra on edge following the whole doppelgänger sneaking into his room and threatening to kill him incident – which he still hasn't told the other Trailblazers about.
