LOST HUMAN, kind of small, has glasses and tattoos [open]
Who: Myaxx and YOU; Myaxx and Newt
Where: Around L.A., also the hospital
When: now-ish??
What: Myaxx is looking for a MISSING HUMAN
Warnings: Myaxx is a sarcastic loser
[A - Around L.A, OPEN]
There is a seven-foot-tall squid alien wandering around Los Angeles. She is evidently not really used to walking around here by herself, judging her frequent checking of maps and angry muttering and general discomfort, but there's little about her behavior to suggest that she actually isn't supposed to be here so much as that she's not accustomed to it. Except, perhaps, for the occasional, vaguely suspicious stares she keeps shooting at other aliens.
Normally, Myaxx would not be wandering around in broad daylight by herself, because she's really still not totally comfortable here. But she doesn't have much of a choice, because it's hard not to notice when the guy whose home/workplace you're living in suddenly stops showing up. And when that guy also happens to be one of the only... friends, she guesses, it feels weird to use that word... that you've goton the planet anywhere, it's hard not to want to know what's going on.
And, without access to any of the scanners or surveillance networks she would normally use for something like this, she's having to try a somewhat less efficient means of finding him. She assumes he's just off messing around with some work thing outside of the clinic, but it doesn't hurt to check.
Every so often she'll actually approach someone, usually human but occasionally alien, apparently chosen at random, and her question is always the same. "Do you know Newton Geiszler?"
[B - Hospital, closed to Newt]
It took a couple minutes to convince the hospital staff that Myaxx's visible rage did not make her any sort of danger to any patients, and even then they made her wait in the lobby until she calmed down (that is to say, until she started pretending to be calm).
Of course, the moment she actually gets into the hospital room, it's pretty obvious that the whole "not being incredibly ticked off" thing is largely an act. "Newt! What is wrong with you, what were you thinking?!"

Of course, waking up in a hospital bed is how he realised that maybe he wasn't as young as he used to be. And the mania didn't exactly help either.
He's in one of those gross hospital gowns, an IV full of god knows what, strung up to his wrist and the only reason he's not scrabbled it out of his veins is because one of the nurses keeps threatening to stop bring him pudding cups. He's not really sure how long he's been here--coming out of an episode was always a blur, his body exhausted and spent and everything tended to merge into one big clusterfuck--but he knows it's been at least a day or two. He has no idea how long his episode before that was though. But the hospital had zero bars apparently, no matter how much he tapped at his phone in between sleeping.
He's sleeping when Myaxx charges in, and yelps, jumping half a mile. He looks like a wreck, eyes heavy with bags, his face gaunt from where he's not been eating much. He's not wearing his glasses, but he knows exactly who just burst into his room.
"Myaxx? Jeez, not so loud, you know this is a hospital, right?"

"I mean, technically I didn't do it on purpose, so you can't put all the blame on me," he start, giving her a grimace of a smile.
"But, aw, I'm touched you were so worried."
no subject
She looks slightly taken aback for a moment, then crosses her arms and shoots a glare somewhere off to the side, avoiding eye contact like a petulant child. "And I wasn't worried."
Definitely not worried. Obviously.
no subject
"Would you believe it if I said I didn't do anything?" He starts, smiling innocently at her, scratching at the adhesive strip that kept his drip in. "Nothing bad anyway. I mean, I was just minding my own business, doing important life saving work, and my body decides 'Hey Newt! How'd you like a trip to the hospital!' And that's pretty much it."
no subject
"Hmmm." She squints at him thoughtfully, still deciding whether to believe him and eventually settling on 'maybe'. "What work were you doing?"
no subject
"Oh, y'know. Stuff for CONDOR, stuff for the Autobots, stuff for Mintaka and then some shifts at the Clinic. It's not like I can't handle it, the doctor doesn't know what he's talking about when he says 'mania induced exhaustion' I mean, seriously."
no subject
"Are you kidding me?!" She takes another step toward him (more of a stomp, really), gesturing frustratedly at him. "No wonder you collapsed, how much are you doing? Have you been sleeping at all or are you just living on bean water now?!" She had sort of started to suspect, particularly in the last few minutes, that it might be something along these lines, and this just confirmed it.
I MEAN 'A'
He doesn't recognise the species of the person - which isn't that much of a surprise; he doesn't recognise any of the species on this planet - but more importantly, she looks completely different from any of the others he's seen. It might be worth finding out before she wanders off.
"Hey,you look like you're....not from around," he realises as soon as it's out of his mouth how offensive that sounds. "...here."
Re: I MEAN 'A'
When he adds his own question, she responds by somehow managing to give the impression of rolling her eyes, despite her eyes being one undifferentiated color. "Really, you don't say."
no subject
"Uh. Yeah. I just figured since, you know, you're not from here you might be able to help me out," he looks around like he's expecting to see something obvious that he's been somehow missing this whole time. "This place have a spaceport or...what? How'd you get here? Seems like there's a lot of non-natives to just be random passer-byers..."
no subject
She waves a hand vaguely in the direction of the woods. "My escape pod just crashed over there a few months ago, and, bam, stranded."
Then she tilts her head slightly, examining him again. "...so, are you new to the planet, then?"
no subject
He trails off thoughtfully for a moment before something she said occurs to him and he turns his gaze back to Myaxx. "Wait, did you say 'escape pod'? Escape pod from what?"
no subject
Since this guy doesn't recognize her species, that's a good sign that he's from a pretty different area from her - which means he likely doesn't know about her escape. But she still intends to be careful.
no subject
"And...you were the only one who crashed here?" He asks carefully, raising an eyebrow. There's something shifty about her story...just a little too vague. A little too brisk. He shakes his head.
"Listen, sorry. I'm not trying to pry, I just, I need to get this ship fixed. Spaceport or no, there's gotta be somewhere to get basic supplies on this rock, right? Vacuum hull sealant...some ion couplings...maaaaybe a replacement grav-thruster, but I'm not gonna get picky. I know this planet's...behind and all, but this isn't rocket science. Okay, maybe it's a LITTLE rocket science. But seriously...only a little."
no subject
She grimaces and makes a displeased hmmm-ing sound as he describes the "basic" supplies he needs. "Yeah, I don't know how to tell you this, but this planet's only even developed space travel within the last century. You'd have better luck looking on a garbage transport ship."
no subject
"Alright, this isn't gonna be short trip then. But you said that most people come to this planet by accident...not all?" There's a hopeful tone in his voice at the end.
