...Bring medical kit.

Who: Starscream and the remaining Autobots
Where: In the Mojave, which might as well be re-named Cybertron 2 for all the robot activity out there.
When: During the duration of the Musical Event immediately following Orion Pax's capture.
What: Starscream escapes getting scrapped by his boss and limps off to whine to the Autobots for help so he doesn't bleed out/starve in the middle of the desert. Later on various Autobots show up to give him grief/poke him with a stick while he's stuck in the brig.
Warnings: Robot gore and medical talk probs, also maybe some reflections on physical abuse. ALSO Starscream being a prick.

It really was an astounding stroke of luck that Starscream had happened to, in his frenzied panic, tear off in the direction that Orion had apparently come from. Lucky, because if he'd gone off in a different direction, he likely wouldn't have been able to pick the trail back up once more without the advantage of height... and there is zero chance that he's getting back up in the air again any time soon. Not in this condition. Not without medical attention.

Fortunately, he knows just where to get medical attention.

Sure, it's not an ideal option, going to his mortal enemies of all people for help; in fact he's terrified of the very notion. There's every chance that even if he makes it before his internal injuries get the best of him, they may just deny him help out of spite. He has certainly considered all this. But realistically, Starscream knows has little other option than to take that risk. First, even if he wanted to head back to Megatron at this point, and trusted him not to finish the job, he knows how far it is to the Conquest, and he dead certain that he cannot make all that distance on foot in one piece.

Second, he knows from observing the notable absence of Orion's old injuries, that the Autobots likely have a trained medic on hand now. Circumstances as dire as they are, going to them seems to be his best chance for survival. It's just a matter of finding them to make contact.

He can only really hope that he's heading in vaguely the correct direction, and that Orion hadn't gone too far out of his way to leave misleading evidence. Despite his best efforts, there was no feasible way that an untrained bot like Orion Pax could have completely erased all trace of the route he'd taken from Autobot base from a seasoned Seeker like Starscream. Even in his half mangled state, he still manages to follow the patches of tracks he locates here and there.

At this point he seems to be moving on nothing but pure spite, a stubborn determination to not die out on a spark-forsaken alien planet like this one. He looks a damn sight, all together: more of the surface of his finished is scuffed and scratched rather than not. He's limping, the mechanisms of one knee good and busted. And then there's his wings. They're still there, but it's clear they're not going to carry him very far if he tries to use them. The one left in particular looks downright maimed, twisted and off balance, and the secondary wings that form his tail fins in jet mode aren't much better off. And in addition to that, there's no telling what sort of internal injuries he has sustained.

He fucked up. In what capacity, he hasn't managed to figure out yet, but deep down, he knows that. If he can just survive a little longer, and if he does find any Autobots and they somehow find it in them to not shoot his pathetic chassis on sight, he's going to have a lot to reflect on.
