Part of your World
Who: Rodimus and the Decepticons
Where: Outside thecongest Conquest
When: Not long after the robot fight (12 hoursish) Nighttime
What: Rodimus enacts step 1 of his 1 part plan
Warnings: Robots? Bad lying.
Rodimus is outside the Decepticon warship. Well....HALF of the Decepticon warship. He's not really sure what happened there, but makes a mental note to have a good chuckle about it later when he's NOT about to put himself in a situation that's either going to go, well, the way he hopes it will or...the way he hopes it doesn't.
Still, broken in half, functional or not, it's hard not to admit that the Decepticon dreadnought is pretty intimidating. He's not even sure how many cons are in there...although he suspects not many, considering Megatron made a personal appearance to obtain the forge. He shakes his head, thinking about the Autobots own paltry list of resources. Even if it wasn't functional now, this massive ship could be someday, and who knows how much energon and weaponry they had stored inside. The Autobots could barely scrape together enough energon to treat themselves after battle...they weren't ready for a long-term siege scenario.
Rodimus feels a sudden pang of guilt thinking about the Autobots. About leaving...no, let's be fair, abandoning the other bots back in downtown L.A. True, he never really saw them except from a distance, and didn't actually have any idea of the outcome of the battle when he decided to follow the 'cons trail back to their base, but Drift filled him in afterward and it...wasn't good. He now knows that Megatron had gotten the forge, and that the Autobots had come out the other side pretty roughed up. It didn't help that they all still had injuries from their last fight that hadn't been properly repaired. And to hear that Arcee had taken onMegatron, one on one (Rodimus thought that was pretty badass and vowed to tell Arcee next time he saw her). Drift told him the details as best he could; had said she was stable but out of commission, and until they got a medic - Rodimus grit his teeth angrily. There wasn't anything he could have done. Not in the fight, not afterwards. And maybe that's what made it worse. Right now he felt so...so useless.
He looks up at the warship, it's outline menacing against the dark sky. He vents heavily, and sets his commlink to bounce an unencrypted message at the ship. No point in waiting. If they're monitoring the radiowaves at all, they'll get it. It's a simple message, he doesn't say who he is, just where and that he wants to join the Decepticons. It'll get their attention...of that, he's sure.
What he's not sure of, is how they'll react.

Wait a second. Something is different here.
That single yellow optic finds its way back to Rodimus, and he blinks. He'd sort of assumed that was Knock Out over there, but... huh. Nope, not Knock Out. His frown darkens. "Who are you?"
Was he left out of the loop, or was he just not listening? It's a mystery.

"Rodimus. You know, New Guy? Probably didn't get that memo because you seem to have a bit of a memo-allergy around here," he says with easy confidence. "Who are you?"
no subject
"Breakdown," he says, straightening a little, inching toward an even more imposing posture. He stops in front of Rodimus, looking him over carefully. Not a bad paint job. He sees why he confused him for Knock Out without looking too close. "Just how long've you been here, New Guy?"

These Decepticons are so damned nosy...you'd think that for how uninformed they were they wouldn't ask so many questions. They have to be a near constant state of confusion anyhow. Rodimus is just grateful that for the moment, unlike some others, Breakdown's reaction to a new bot on the ship isn't throwing them.

"Welcome to the team, newbie. You'll like it here." His smile goes a little thoughtful. "I mean, as long as you stay out of Lord Megatron's way. And Soundwave's. Starscream's too, on a bad day. Oh, and don't go into Shockwave's lab. Then you should be fine."
no subject
He suspicious of how good natured this 'bot seems. So far he'd categorise the Decepticons on this ship into a Venn diagram of sadistic, conniving, and blatantly terrifying...none of these categories seem to fit Breakdown. He is off-put by the genuineness of this interaction.
"So...stay away from Big Bad, and the three S's; got it. What'd'you do 'round here?" asks Rodimus sincerely.
no subject
"Yeah, that about sums it up." He considers warning him off of Knock Out, too... but this guy looks flashy, so who knows? Maybe they'd get along. "Anything Lord Megatron orders me to," he says cheerfully. "And I'm Knock Out's assistant. If we had any Vehicons around yet, I keep those guys in line, too."
So... not much, basically. It's not like there are bots lining up for the medibay, Megatron doesn't have too many jobs for him, and, clearly, there are no Vehicons around.
"What about you, they give you a job yet?"
no subject
"Sorry, that wasn't a very good Shockwave. I can't quite nail that...that thing he does. You know the one. Where he sounds like he's bored, and also like you're something he's stepped in, but also neither of those things because he's far too monotone?" He sighs dramatically, finally breaking away from his winded, uncalled for monologue. He gives Breakdown a meaningful look. "I don't know how you put up with these guys."
no subject
"No, that was pretty good," he assures him, once the laugh fades out again, leaving behind a good-natured grin. "You probably can't get it perfect without a head like this, but that was still close. Also— " He leans closer, tone dropping to a low conspiratory whisper. "I tune them out a lot. It works."
no subject
"Yeah I'm gonna have to, work on that. A little easier said than done if you ask me," Rodimus trails off, making a disgruntled face. "Between 'screamer and that creepy medic, though..."
