Part of your World
Who: Rodimus and the Decepticons
Where: Outside thecongest Conquest
When: Not long after the robot fight (12 hoursish) Nighttime
What: Rodimus enacts step 1 of his 1 part plan
Warnings: Robots? Bad lying.
Rodimus is outside the Decepticon warship. Well....HALF of the Decepticon warship. He's not really sure what happened there, but makes a mental note to have a good chuckle about it later when he's NOT about to put himself in a situation that's either going to go, well, the way he hopes it will or...the way he hopes it doesn't.
Still, broken in half, functional or not, it's hard not to admit that the Decepticon dreadnought is pretty intimidating. He's not even sure how many cons are in there...although he suspects not many, considering Megatron made a personal appearance to obtain the forge. He shakes his head, thinking about the Autobots own paltry list of resources. Even if it wasn't functional now, this massive ship could be someday, and who knows how much energon and weaponry they had stored inside. The Autobots could barely scrape together enough energon to treat themselves after battle...they weren't ready for a long-term siege scenario.
Rodimus feels a sudden pang of guilt thinking about the Autobots. About leaving...no, let's be fair, abandoning the other bots back in downtown L.A. True, he never really saw them except from a distance, and didn't actually have any idea of the outcome of the battle when he decided to follow the 'cons trail back to their base, but Drift filled him in afterward and it...wasn't good. He now knows that Megatron had gotten the forge, and that the Autobots had come out the other side pretty roughed up. It didn't help that they all still had injuries from their last fight that hadn't been properly repaired. And to hear that Arcee had taken onMegatron, one on one (Rodimus thought that was pretty badass and vowed to tell Arcee next time he saw her). Drift told him the details as best he could; had said she was stable but out of commission, and until they got a medic - Rodimus grit his teeth angrily. There wasn't anything he could have done. Not in the fight, not afterwards. And maybe that's what made it worse. Right now he felt so...so useless.
He looks up at the warship, it's outline menacing against the dark sky. He vents heavily, and sets his commlink to bounce an unencrypted message at the ship. No point in waiting. If they're monitoring the radiowaves at all, they'll get it. It's a simple message, he doesn't say who he is, just where and that he wants to join the Decepticons. It'll get their attention...of that, he's sure.
What he's not sure of, is how they'll react.

"Soundwave: not in possession of humor" He monotones, taking a step closer. "Objective: replace destroyed wall panel. Forgiveness will be earned."

"You know," starts Rodimus matter-of-factly. "You'd probably be less, uhm...what's the word...high strung if you embraced that sense of humour, a little bit. Just a suggestion....Decepticon to Decepticon." Rodimus grins, evidently having never heard of 'pushing one's luck.'

But still... Soundwave does not have the best rapport with his fellow Decepticons. And, he has observed in the past that humor is often associated with being "cool" and being "cool" often promotes respect by peers. And there is a lack of respect happening, for certain.
"Query: What would you suggest." The sentence burns him.

"I mean, if you're asking my opinion," he puts a hand on his chin thoughtfully, looking Soundwave over. "I'm sure the whole...eerie, silent, constantly lurking in the corners...thing is working out great for you , I really am, but - no wait - hear me out...think how much more effective you'd be at listening in on people if they liked you." Rodimus pauses. That was probably a bit more insulting than he'd meant for it to be.
"Er...I mean, as a...as a chum, you know? If they felt like they could trust you, confide in you! If you were more...fun!" He says that last word with a pained expression, trying really hard to imagine Shockwave being anything resembling fun. The thought concerns him.

Soundwave turns what Rodimus is saying over in his head. It is logical. And now more than ever he needs the cooperation of his fellow Decepticons.
"Soundwave: requesting Rodimus to assist in education."
Perhaps by the end of this he may even consider the ex-Autobot one of his...friends. Despite his bad taste in satire.

"Er...hm." Rodimus looks thoughtfully at Soundwave for a long moment. This was going to be a...daunting task. Never mind helping Soundwave be more personable, Soundwave scarcely has any outward personality at all. Never at any point does it cross Rodimus' mind that this is phenomenally not a good use of his time with the Decepticons.
"I've got it," he says, with a smile. "Have you got a Netflix account?"

Netflix, Inc. is an American provider of on-demand Internet streaming media available to viewers in North and South America, the Caribbean, and parts of Europe (Denmark, Finland, Ireland, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom), and of flat rate DVD-by-mail in the United States, where mailed DVDs are sent via Permit Reply Mail. The company was established in 1997 and is headquartered in Los Gatos, California. It started its subscription-based digital distribution service in 1999;[4] by 2009, Netflix was offering a collection of 100,000 titles on DVD and had surpassed 10 million subscribers.[5]
Fascinating. "Negative. Purchase of Netflix required?" Hell, Soundwave doesn't have any money...Perhaps there was another way...but wait, Free Trial! Success! "Free Trial requires credit card. Soundwave: Not in possession of human credit card."

He gives Soundwave a sidelong look, already compiling a list in his head of all the things that are absolutely required viewing. His face lights up with the endless possibilities, and despite all sane reasoning he find himself looking forward to this undertaking.
"I think it's IMPERATIVE that we start with film - Earth may not have much going for it, but it has some choice features that are perfect for our purposes here." Is this a thinly veiled excuse to share Top Gun with yet another bot? Maybe. But there's no going back now.

"Afirmative. Soundwave: suggests we use the monitors in personal hab suite." He gestures for Rodimus to follow as he leads the way through the winding corridors of the Conquest. Eventually Soundwave keys an unassuming door open, ushering his new compatriot in.
Soundwave can't remember the last time he had another mech in his quarters. And for something other than business? Even longer. He stands awkwardly in the doorway as Rodimus glances around the room, unsure of what he should do next. Frag, he doesn't know what he's doing...
"How can I be of assistance in obtaining the Netflix?"
