Who: Karkat Vantas (
10thingsihateaboutme) & The Disciple (
scribes)
Where: TB training area
When: Sometime after Karkat and Di's encounter with Signless.
What: Di told Karkat that she would help train him. It's never too early to start
Warnings: Some bruises might be earned but nothing really serious.
Di had arrived early to the training arena. She wanted to get acquainted with the area and see what equipment would be at their disposal. It would be a lie to say that she also wanted some time alone to just get rid of pent up frustration. It seemed like a lone moment of luck that they ended up having the room to herself and that it was a large, spacious room with plenty to offer. Practice weapons, sturdy dummies, obstacle courses--Di wished she had regular access to it but unfortunately she would have to stick to her daily runs and routines at home.
Di had worked up a good sweat when her meeting time drew near. A good sweat, and she had a clearer mind. The heavy bags under her eyes--even for a troll--still could not be hidden but she felt a touch better than she had an hour ago. The stress of everything that had been going on the past four months was finally beginning to wear on her but she was determined to pull through it.
She wasn't too certain what she and Karkat would do. Di had never trained anyone in her life, and honestly she had never received any specific sort of training. Her fighting had been learned from having been tossed into the fray and watching her lusus. For their first day it seemed best to just assess Karkat's strengths, weaknesses and skills.

Nooo worries!
"Thought I'd get a bit familiar with our equipment before we started." Seeing Karkat with his cape was a little strange but she refrained from commenting on it. Being made to feel strange by Karkat was honestly just something she'd need to get over.
"How are you feeling?"

"Okay," he said noncommittally. There was a little pause, and he looked back at her, a combination of uncertainty and genuine concern. "... Are you alright?"

Yet Karkat had enough on his shoulders without having to worry about her so she gave a nod. "I'm alright." She would go so far as to try to convince him she was good but. She was alright.
"Ready to get started?"

He nodded, pulling his hood up over his horns. "Yeah, let's go."
