Who: Rikki Barnes, Clint Barton, and YOU!!
Where: Around and about
When: The night of the Dr. Dynamo post, idk, dates
What: Rikki's going out on patrol, and needs a chaperone. Clint is... sort of a responsible adult.
Warnings: Ridiculousness. Lots of it.
"So," Rikki says, staring down at the street below them.
It's... honestly a lot closer than she's comfortable with. She misses New York, the cliffsides of buildings and canyons of streets, where the rooftops are a whole different world from the ground. It's different here. LA doesn't build on the vertical, for the most part - makes sense when the earth would shake it to the ground sooner or later, but she still hasn't quite adjusted to the different scale of things here.
"Let's say we end up running into this crazy maybe-robot dude..."
"You hang back and call CONDOR and Alpha Force for backup," Clint says. "I'll try to keep him talking until they get here."
He sighs and rubs a hand over his face, looking down at the street. He definitely agrees with the feeling that the streets are too close, and he's felt that way since he moved back a few years ago.
If nothing else, it's a lot easier to come up with a backup plan for falling off a roof when you've got 50 floors to fall than when you've got 15.
Rikki presses her lips together, turning to glare at him - if only for a moment or two. "I feel like that kind of defeats the purpose of me being here, but... no, actually, what I was going to say was... if he shows up, are we going to fight, or is it going to end up as this weird creepy worship thing we're all uncomfortable with?"
"I didn't say you couldn't come join in after you called them," Clint points out. "I just don't want you talking to him alone." He purses his lips thoughtfully for a moment, turning the options over in his head. "Whatever will keep him around longest, I think. So, maybe get him ranting, as creepy and awkward as that is. Fighting only if he looks like he's gonna wander off before backup gets there."
She nods, standing up and balancing on her toes on the edge of the roof while she judges the distance to the next rooftop over. She could make it. She's not so sure about MANEYE.
"Uh-huh. The privileged life of the Great Ones, right here..."

"I think that's what everyone's doing tonight. The petty criminals must be so happy we've got bigger things to worry about."

He nods in greeting to Nilin. He doesn't know her, since he can't keep track of all the new CONDOR arrivals, but she might've heard of him, considering they're both CONDOR agents and he's a pretty visible member of Alpha Force.
"Don't suppose you've seen anything noteworthy?"

She recognizes Clint, having made a point to familiarize herself with Alpha Force at least, but she still keeps a bit of distance between herself and the two of them. Close enough to talk, but out of arm's reach, even as she glances over the edge they're standing on.
"I'm Nilin, by the way."

"I'm Nomad. This is Maneye." No, she's not letting that go for a while. "So... is Nilin your name or a superhero name? Because I don't recognize it. But I haven't been in town that long."
