"Whoa, what the hell?" It's dark out here, but it's clearly Wildcat. Teddy's seen her in Trailblazers photos and at big disasters enough times to recognize her, even in the dark.
"How can you make yourself that small? And what are you doing out here?"
It's not often Teddy gets to meet other shapeshifters. Important questions first.

She lets him go only to peer up at him with her wide eyes, hands falling to the ground in a very catlike manner. If she had a tail, she'd be curling it in curiosity.
"What? I can do all sorts of sizes!" She pauses, eying him. "As long as its a cat."
no subject
"Huh. I've never tried to be something as small as a cat. Did you have to study cats a whole bunch, or does it just come naturally?"
Teddy stays where he is for now, kneeling on the dry ground with his hands on his knees. "Wait, can you be a lion?"
no subject
She blinks owlishly at him and tilts her head. "Huh? Um, I don't think so. I think I could do this when I was a baby," she muses before brightening when he asks her more questions. She obliges, and Teddy now has a face full of lioness, still with the domino mask. She gives a grumbling bellow and looks at him like she's daring him to name big cats now.
no subject
"Okay. Can you be..." He tries to think of an obscure cat. "...An ocelot?" It always stumped his 20 questions toy, anyway.

She sits, wobbling only slightly, puffing her chest out and gives him a chirp, looking very proud of herself.
no subject
"That's so cool. So you're a metahuman, right? Not like a Skrull or anything. I wish I knew how to be a cat."
Maybe with a whole bunch of practice he could be a lion, or something.
no subject
"Yup, I'm human! Are you a skrull?" she says eying him for chin stripes. "Or are you a shapeshifter too? You can't shift cats? That's pawful!"
no subject
"Uh, I'm a shapeshifter. I've never tried to be a cat, but I don't think I could do it without studying cats a whole ton fist. And I think I could only be a pretty big cat, I've never tried to be something that small before."
But Teddy feels a little outdone here, and that can't happen. He concentrates for a second, and his ears are replaced with kitty ears, which perk up and swivel even though he can't actually hear any better than before. They're covered in short green fur.
"I can do these, though!"
no subject
"I never really think about it...," she says, trailing off. "I mean, I've been shifting since I was a kitten so!"
She gives him a small nod and then her eyes widen as he produces kitty ears and she squeals loudly leaning forward to rub and touch them.
"Are you kitten me? I can't do parts!" she beams, looking totally enchanted by the ears. "These are so cute!"
no subject
"Yeah, I'm pretty much all parts. I could probably do a tail too, but there's no hole in my uniform for it to come out, so it'd be kinda weird right now."
no subject
She grins as he purrs and continues rubbing the soft velvet inside the ears before pulling back with a short laugh as he mentions the tail.
"Yeah, that would be clawfully uncomfurtable!" she says with a shrug. "I shift with my clothes I think..."
no subject
He's kind of itching to find out exactly how Wildcat's powers actually work, although it seems like she doesn't really know either, and it's kind of weird to grill people about whether they can feel their organs.
"...So you really like cat puns, huh?"
no subject
When he speaks again, she blinks owlishly and looks up at him, giving him a small smile.
"It's kinda my thing. I can only do cats, and my codename is Wildcat. You gotta have puns! That's the best part."
no subject
"I don't think I have much of a theme to do puns around, though. Like, just generally being a shapeshifter isn't that pun-worthy, and being green just sets me up for a lot of Kermit jokes."
Like a lot of Kermit jokes.
no subject
"Well, it's not easy bein' green," she beams.
no subject
"I'm not above punching you a little bit, okay?"
no subject
"If you can hit me," she purrs, shifting her weight to brace herself if he does decide to spar.
"I'm not above biting."
no subject
"Okay, okay. I've never been mauled by a tiger and I don't really want to start today, so I'll take your word for it."
He's definitely going to try to figure out how to be a cat when he gets home, though.
no subject
"Your loss," she smiles at him, before jumping up to her feet and extending a gloved hand to help him up. She sure is pretty tiny.
"So what're you doing out here in coyote territory in the middle of the night?"
