Who: Professional Science Leopard Vanessa Goldpaw & any unaffiliated superheroes
Where: Anywhere around the city – and perhaps beyond.
When: Any time mid February to early March, pretty much
What: Apparently being a celebrity science genius and running a hugely successful business is no longer enough for Ms Goldpaw: she's looking to pick up unaffiliated heroes to run her own team.
Warnings: None yet.

Goldpaw Industries hasn't been up to much significant business lately. Vanessa has been busy enough – she always is – but she hasn't been working on anything terrifically interesting. Which is probably why she's been planning a personal project.

So far no one else is on it. But she's hoping that soon they will be...

Over the next few weeks Vanessa will be snooping around after unaffiliated superheroes. Generally competent ones are ideal, but what she's looking for above all else is 'undiscovered talent' – she's looking for lesser-known heroes to pick up and make big by cramming them into her GOLDPAW-BACKED COOL SUPERHERO TEAM.

Despite being a shapeshifter, she has been choosing to do her snooping in her usual leopard woman guise – even for top secret projects like this, she never uses her powers. She has probably been wearing a wide brimmed hat and high necked coat, though. Sooo surreptitious.

Feel free to either have your character notice she's been surreptitiously following them around or repeatedly lurking in the background while they do hero stuff and thus confront her or specifically attempt... to hide... lmao, or just be going about their business with whatever degree of obliviousness is appropriate while she approaches them! This is open to any unaffiliated superfolk, even if you think they would make terrible team members or you plan to have them refuse an offer – PM me or hit me up on plurk or AIM if you want to work any specifics out.

“Bravo!” Vanessa calls, dropping out of the shadows to – well, she doesn’t clap, because her paw pads aren’t very good for that. Small sacrifices. But she looks and sounds impressed, is the thing. “You’ve really got a flair for this.”

"I know," he says with the tone of someone for whom modesty is some kind of disease that only happens to other people. "How delusional the evildoers, if they think they can defeat the Mysticalman!"

He throws his cape back for good measure. It's very dramatic, and the tiny glass particles floating around him seem to glimmer in approbation. The fact he hasn't ever defeated any "evildoer" stronger than petty thieves and the odd aqua or magma team grunt doesn't seem to bother him, really.

And now that he can take a good look at his mysterious admirer... his face lights up in recognition. He's a gadget aficionado; a lot of the technology he uses both in and outside of costume is from Goldpaw Technologies, and there is no way that woman isn't its founder. There really aren't that many anthropomorphic leopards around.

"And you..." A short pause, for extra dramatic effect, "are Vanessa Goldpaw, are you not!"

He completely fails his suaveness check on that last sentence. He just sounds excited.

Oh, she likes this guy. He's certainly a character. Not that she didn't know that already, but she's pretty impressed by his commitment to being so ... intense.

"That's me." It's always nice to be recognised – she is more often than not, of course, but when someone's this enthusiastic about it it's hard not to smile. "I take it you're a fan of my products?"

"I'm quite familiar with some of them, yes." He pats one of his gauntlets. They're pretty big, but their size is impressive considering how many gadgets are crammed in there - some of them from Goldpaw Technologies.

His phone and laptop are also from Vanessa's company, but that's a bit too mundane to mention.

"Of course, this doesn't explain why the head of Goldpaw Tech decided to follow me around!" he exclaims with a laugh. He's not surprised that people would want to watch him do his amazing feats of superheroism, but the fact someone so important came in person does make for a rather unusual situation.

"Well," she says, "I'm not here on behalf of my company. It's more of a personal endeavour – I'm looking for new, exciting names on the LA superhero scene to recruit for a new team."

It's one thing to think it's your destiny to be chosen to do amazing feats of superheroism. It's another to actually be chosen by someone.

"And you decided to approach... me!" He actually looks a bit taken aback for a moment, as if other people thinking he's good at what he does is a novel idea to him. It's not, not really -anyone who asks will be treated to an hour-long monologue about how everyone worships the ground he walks on- but this does have the merit of being a slightly more genuine reaction than his usual bravado. Not that he doesn't fully believe said bravado, of course; it's just that he is extremely good at ignoring what other people think about him and replacing it with his own little dream world. Good for boosting your own ego... terrible for literally everything else.

This doesn't last long, however, and the confident smile soon creeps back to his face. Why, it's no surprise the leopard woman contacted him about this! He's amazing.

"Ah- of course! You must have heard of my daring exploits!" Like when he arrested that one weak grunt! Or... that other grunt. Yeah.

Look, he's trying.

"I've been keeping track of you, yes," she says. "And I think you've got what I'm looking for to make this team a success."

He is feeling so horribly giddy right now. He can already picture himself as the brave team leader, leading a ragtag bunch of misfits to VICTORY! They're all slightly less cool than him, of course. Wouldn't want the others to hog the spotlight.

"Well! If it's success you want, you have found the right man!" He puffs out his chest, his sense of ego thoroughly inflated. "Though I must ask - what would this... partnership entail, exactly?"

Would he get cool gadgets for free? Please tell him he'd get cool gadgets for free.

Oh dear. Poor Eusine. Then again, at this rate he might not have all that much competition for the spotlight...

Vanessa doesn't seem in the slightest put off by his enthusiasm, though, as she explains, "I won't be on the team myself, of course, but I'll be supporting it financially, providing tech support, uniforms, healthcare... you'd be paid, of course."

Free gadgets, healthcare AND money. He can't say the offer isn't tempting, really... except there's one small detail bothering him.

"Ah, pardon me but... Those uniforms you mentioned... Are they mandatory?"

This is such a weird thing to fixate on but he has his own style, okay. He needs to look good while fighting crime, and looking good involves bright purple and capes. There is no other way.

She laughs. "Well, of course I want the team to have a unified look, but I don't have many exact plans just yet. I'm hoping to be able to consult with my team to put together something that works for everyone."

He gives an appreciative hum. In his mind, there's no doubt that when she says "something that works for everyone" it means he will get to decide. After all, this is what team leaders do.

"I am a lone wolf, a solitary soul who strikes evil in the heart of the night!" he proclaims with a flourish of the hand. It's mostly for show, really; while it's true he tends to work alone, he does enjoy working with other people. "That said... I find myself intrigued by your proposition."

More than just "intrigued", to be honest... but he knows the importance of making yourself wanted.

He isn't terrifically subtle, but Vanessa had already decided she liked that when she decided to approach him in the first place. She can't help a chuckle at the lone wolf bit, though.

"Well," she says, "if your intrigue gets the better of you..." She holds out her card. "Call me – I'll be waiting."

She'll be waiting. For him. The only way this day could get better would be if she suddenly revealed she was a unicorn all along.

"Should it happen, rest assured that I will!" He gratefully accepts her card... before taking her paw in one hand and bowing slightly, lips hovering above its furry back for a second before retreating. "But alas! I fear our meeting must be cut short. The night is still young, and I have much to do - though it does pain me to leave such delightful company!"

He doesn't actually have anything pressing to do and the night is closer to its mid-life crisis, but you know. He needs to keep up his image as a restless vigilante.
