for baelheit

Who: Miriel and Baelheit
Where: Baelheit's office
When: February 9th
What: A scientist and her boss discuss a variety of important subjects, including exasperating alien robots.
Warnings: None at the moment!

The clicking of Miriel's shoes echoes sharply down the hallway. It's time for her first February meeting with her boss, Dr. Julius Baelheit. As the head of the gadgetry research department at Mintaka Industries, she must report any new discoveries or advancements of the department to Dr. Baelheit. Their meetings often consist of more conversation than just that, because they have a professionally amicable relationship, but most of it, if not everything, is in some way related to their jobs. That suits her perfectly well.

Miriel reaches the door at the end of the hallway. She opens it, steps inside, and closes it behind her neatly. Already inside, Dr. Baelheit is sitting at his desk. There is a chair on the other side of the desk. Miriel sits down in it. She doesn't mind these meetings as much as she used to; in fact, she enjoys exchanging information with Dr. Baelheit. She sees him as an intelligent and driven man, and those qualities are admirable to her.

"Dr. Baelheit," Miriel says in her polite way. She's never been good at pleasantries, but she makes slightly more of an effort with people she respects. Soon the conversation will shift to topics she appreciates and understands – professional, scientific topics – and that will make the situation far more comfortable. "Have you been faring well?"
