A teenaged boy that is literally laying on a busted up couch they found under a bridge, with a book pressed into his face, having fallen asleep half way through reading it. It wasn't that he wanted to read or nothing, but Matilda's collection was growing, and she had brought some for him to read. And frankly, he didn't want to be a dick about it, so he grudgingly took a few to skim. He'd be lying if he said he didn't like some of the books, especially since he could read at his own pace, and everything was happening in his head not on a stupidly slow screen. It was really satisfying.
The knock on the door jolts him awake, and the book dropping to the floor on it's spine. But he's got bigger problems than losing his place. Someone knocked on the door. Nobody knocks on the door.
Tommy scrambles up and off the couch, looking an absolute mess--clothes crumpled and hair askew--thanks to the sudden nap, zipping over to one of the broken side windows to see if he can see who's at their fucking door. Unfortunately, thanks to the angle, he can't get a good look other than a flash of red and he's far too sleep addled to even think about vibrating through the wall to get a better look. Matilda and Aña know to go through the window--the door hadn't been in use since they broke into the place. Part of him freaks that it's TRIDENT, but TRIDENT don't freaking knock. They just barge in and take what they want.
But still. It's enough that when he goes to the door, he just leans against it hard, listening to see if he can hear anything that could tip him off to who it is.
