Warnings: Superheroes...
It's a pleasant evening at Ernest E. Debs Regional Park, just a couple miles from downtown LA, which can be seen through the haze. Late March means spring is just arriving in LA and the trees are just starting to bud. Unfortunately, the grass is still kind of dead and dry.
The barbecue and picnic area isn't too busy, though the park does have the usual assortment of joggers, dog walkers, and cyclists. There are some balloons tied to picnic tables, and strung between two trees is a very homemade "SUPER BBQ" banner, courtesy of Hulkling and Starbreaker. There's still glitter glue on Milly's apartment floor. There's another posterboard with the rules written on it in big bold sharpie letters nearby, just in case anyone forgets:

He's doing his best to be civil with this kid - he recognizes him, now that he's spoken, as the kid he and Nomad ran into, and that wasn't exactly the best of first impressions on either side.
Not to mention that Clint is well aware of how sometimes the Barnes-Carter-Walker extended not-entirely-related brood could come across as a little obnoxious with their ideals. Especially anyone who particularly took after Forrest. He loved them for it, but the younger ones like Rikki especially... well. Sometimes they were just very them.
"I don't think we really got proper introductions last time," he says casually. "I'm Clint. Sorry if Nomad wound you up, she can be a little over-enthusiastic in her heroing sometimes."

"Food is kinda fuel for me. I need to eat a lot of it. If I was tasting everything it would take forever," he starts, before shutting his mouth when Clint continued. Oh great. An adult trying to make a mends. His favourite.
At the mention of Rikki, he immediately looks more defensive, scowling just slightly as he crosses his arms over his chest and leans against a tree. Of Clint looks close, he might remind him of a certain other Alpha Force member, who has a twin sister and is currently on the moon.
"Over-enthusiastic? She broke my nose." He pulls his goggles off to reveal the black eye he's sporting, and huffs like an angry cat.
