He takes a deep breath. He knows mostly it was because he didn't want to talk about Annie and risk another break down. He hesitates, looking a bit uncomfortable as he tries to come up with another reason.
Finally, he says, "I thought it might upset you. To know that you're still stuck here while they finally do something about it. About him."
