He gawks at her, with a mixture of horror and confusion, and takes a small step back when she outstretches it. There's a million and one things running through his head right now--how he's going to find and kill whoever did this to her, how the hell she thought this was fine, how maybe if he'd gotten to her sooner it wouldn't have happened--but he doesn't say any of it. Not yet anyway.
