Karkat looked kind of uncomfortable about that, if anything – his feelings about the Sufferist movement weren't always entirely straightforward, and while he was, at the heart of it, in favour of their goals (even if they made him kind of scared sometimes), it was hard to look at it as a choice. There were a host of reasons that it was a lot easier to view it as something he had to do, rather than something he could do if he wanted.
